Hi. This is ADK PERFECT DAY.
I am Kristin, founder-owner of ADK PERFECT DAY.
I adore...Weddings, Engagements, Photography, Babies, Pets, Art &Design...
I love LOVE!
adkperfectday PHOTOGRAPHY: I started taking pictures with my play camera at the age of 6 or 7. My subjects back then were close-up facial portraits of my brothers or colorful caterpillars found in our front yard. Now, I LOVE taking pictures of families, couples, kids and pets! I use Nikon equipment, always have and always will. I believe photographs are the most valuable investment that you can make. It captures a moment in time that you can look back on and share with friends and family in the future.
adkperfectday WEDDINGS: I have always been in love with the mushy romance. I have watched all of the Disney Fairy tale movies at least once. Professionally, my wedding career officially started in 2001 when I worked as a studio manager for a photography shop, the delivery person for a florist and worked high service wedding functions. Also, during that time I completed my two bachelor degrees....one in photography & digital design and the second is restaurant & hotel management...My career quickly developed into the food & beverage director and wedding planner & event coordinator for high-end resorts where it has been an honor to be a part of over 500 weddings to date!
My Life
I am 46 years old. I live in Saranac Lake, NY with my family. My family is my hunk husband Adam, my daughters Eloise Caroline "Ellie" (age 10) and Annika Jean "Annie" (age 10). We live in our forever home on the side of a small mountain. We love animals too! We currently have two dogs, Daisy (Schnoodle) and George (Golden Doodle), our big cat, Bob and a ton of fish. In our backyard on any given day, we have a herd of turkeys and about a dozen deer feasting on our apple trees. As a family, we love to spend time together.
We love being outside & around nature. We snow ski, water ski, bike, hike, swim, camp.
We spend alot of time on our boat on Lower Saranac Lake around the islands and sandbars.
Prior to graduating high school, I moved alot. My family which was my parents and my two younger brothers lived all over New York, in Indiana and South Carolina. I graduated high school in Albany NY and started my first college degree in small town Potsdam, NY. I graduated with a Bachelor in Studio Art, concentration in Photography and Digital Design. After a year of doing absolutely nothing with that degree, I proclaimed to my parents that I wanted to be a restauranteur instead.
So, off I went to get my second Bachelors degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Paul Smith College in the Adirondack Mountains.
This started my settlement in this beautiful area where I call home.
For the past 23 years now, I have lived and worked year round, played too. I have worked in high-end resorts, flower shops, a photography studio... I have worked in our local school as the substitute teacher. I have hosted paint and sips, waitressed in a few restaurants and worked in a boutique clothing store and jewelry shop.
I have volunteered at the nursing home and humane society. I have cleaned hotel rooms and worked the front desk.
All of these experiences have led me to where I am today. My most fulfilling jobs in my life! I am a mother, a wife, a wedding planner and photographer.
I'm sure I will evolve more...perhaps pick up a few more skills along the way...but this I know is true:
my passion for love & life will never go away.

My belief is that every person should be framed in the moments they’ve felt the most loved and cared for.

I hope to get to know you. I want to find out what styles you like & how you feel comfortable and relaxed.
My Work Style
Before a photo-shoot session or the BIG wedding day, I will have organized all details needed to make sure that we cover everything! Whether its checking the weather or sunset time, bringing a blanket or props, touching base with the other hired vendors, keeping track of budget items...I will take care of everything that you expect me to and hopefully I can surprise you by going beyond your expectations as the end result!
